LIVE at The Rosebud: March 6, 7, 8, 11, 2026

Music is change, and change is musical. Harmony is always building or resolving tension, groove is always flowing forward, melody, articulation, all infinitely variable and diversified. Music, like life, is not always beautiful. There is pain in song, there is violence in rhythm, but there is always truth, there is always freedom, there is always hope, because there is always change. To quote the great pianist Bill Evans, “Just go with truth and beauty and forget the rest.”

Here’s what we have for you this week…

Friday, March 6th:

Doom meets post-rock on this 3-band bill of heavy original music. Forged in the Pacific Northwest, Elk Witch craft a sound that is equal parts grounded and cosmic. The Medford, Oregon trio channel their rugged surroundings — mountains, deserts, and dense forests — into heavy, riff-driven journeys steeped in psychedelia and storytelling. With Roseburg’s Soulexploder and PRIV.

Saturday, March 7th:

Shafty: Portland’s tribute to Phish brings their own masterful improv to the stage, using the decades-deep Phish catalog as a trampoline for creative expression. Their faithful recreation of Phish's light-hearted progressive rock has enamored fans across the country. Shafty's audience knows to expect the band riding waves of steamy dance jams, while dropping surprising twists and turns in every set.

Sunday, March 8th:

Skirting the line between modern pop and folk singer-songwriter, Portland’s original roots / pop duo Angelic Noise takes the stage with their unique sound inspired by love, lies, family, travel, and meditation.

Wednesday, March 11th:

Kara Grainger Band LIVE at The Rosebud // $20 presale, $25 at the door // All Ages // Doors at 6pm, Show at 7pm // A unique modern take to blues, roots, and soul music

"Talk about star power, a killer voice and guitar skills. She said to the band as much to the audience, “I think tonight, we’ll just play some blues.” Playing slide guitar, Grainger began with rootsy blues, her voice full-bodied with plenty of soul. There was clarity there too with that unmistakable bell tone mixed with grit. We were in for some serious musicianship with Kara Grainger. Her vocals packed a punch and she played monster guitar solos that had the crowd whooping and clapping. Nice to see a female musician kick some a** like that". - Rock & Blues Muse

Thanks to our staff for holding it down while I, for one, was out of commission. Thanks to our patrons, and to you, for logging off, tuning in, and dropping by The Rosebud Theatre.
