Forged in the Pacic Northwest, Elk Witch craft a sound that is equal parts grounded and cosmic. The Medford, Oregon trio channel their rugged surroundings — mountains, deserts, and dense forests — into heavy, riff-driven journeys steeped in psychedelia and storytelling. Formed in 2019, Elk Witch quickly established themselves in the underground heavy rock scene with a sound that bridges the timeless weight of doom and the expansive reach of post-rock.
Their debut full length album, Beyond the Mountain (StoneFly Records, 2022), introduced their blend of fuzz-laden riffs, melodic grit, and nature-inspired atmosphere — earning them a spot at #11 on the Doom Charts upon release. Building on that foundation, their sophomore record Azimuth (Majestic Mountain Records, 2024) expanded their sonic reach with post-rock textures and ambient space, while keeping their foundation in heavy, riff- centric doom, landing at #9 on the Doom Charts and later appearing in several best of 2024 Rankings.
Described as a collision of Black Sabbath, The Sword, and King Bualo, Elk Witch’s music embraces imperfection and texture, thriving on the warmth of analog tones and the authenticity of DIY production. With each release, they continue to renew their cosmic-doom identity — heavy, human, and deeply tied to the landscapes that inspire them. Whether on stage or on vinyl, Elk Witch invite listeners to journey through the Pacic Northwest’s shadowed peaks and open skies.
Roseburg’s Soulexploder is apocalyptically styled rock n roll from the future.
PRIV delivers raw, experimental heavy improvisation straight from rural southwestern Oregon. Their sound is a fusion of unrestrained creativity and intense sonic exploration, pushing musical boundaries with every performance. Featuring Sam, Peter, and Tyler of Insomniac Folklore.
