The Bone Rollers, Showtigers, Vinnie Rip: PSYCH-ROCK at The Rosebud
$15 / 21+ / Doors 7pm, Show 8pm / Psych-Rock, Surf-Rock, Doom, Post-Punk / Buy Tickets Here
Formed in the mist-veiled valleys and fertile sumptuous slopes of southern Oregon…. Called together by Gods who exist beyond thoughts of good or evil…. Four wandering souls, possessed by music and the sounds of ancient spirits were plucked, one by one, from the crushing entropy of despair, and potted in the soil of deaths inevitability, protected by the canopy of abandoning all possible fucks, and planted at the confluence of poisoned and holy waters. Through this mystical union they’ve concocted a dark and eclectic mix of psyche-rock, surf-rock, doom and post-punk. Their dice are roaring and ruinous, heavy as iron shackles. Every roll blares like thundering seraphim, and shines like the black granite gravestones … They call themselves The Bone Rollers.
With openers Elk Witch and Vinnie Rip!
Freddy Trujillo, Adam Gabriel LIVE at The Rosebud
$12 ADV, $15 DOS / All Ages / Doors 6pm, Show 7pm / Singer-Songwriter, Folk, Chicano-Rock / Buy Tickets Here
Simi Valley, California-born, and Portland, Oregon-based singer-songwriter Freddy Trujillo is self-releasing his fourth solo album, I Never Threw A Shadow At it, May 24th. A very personal record based around Chicano experiences, it is the follow-up to 2022’s Sketch of a Man. Trujillo, who is also the bass player for The Delines and Richmond Fontaine, delivers an honest storyteller’s look at his life growing up in Southern California as a Chicano.
Fueled by the 70s Nuyorican-soul vibe of the title track, a highlight of the album for Trujillo, and one of his proudest moments, I Never Threw A Shadow At It blends folk, Chicano-rock, and a lot of heart throughout its ten tracks. Featuring every member of The Delines on the record, and engineered and co-produced by The Delines’ Cory Gray at his Old Unconscious Studios, the album will appeal to fans of Trujillo’s other band, while sounding nothing like The Delines.
Adam Gabriel is a profoundly gifted singer-songwriter and performer who wields a masterful blend of Folk-Rock, Southern Blues and rich, Soulful vocals. His lyrics are honest and raw, cutting and comforting at the same time and his live performances are always Exquisite. A consummate professional, Gabriel is not only a master of his craft, but rightly earns the title "Entertainer" due to his ability to bond with the audience, no matter what size and connect with them through not only the music, but through his stories, dialog and vulnerability throughout every performance.
His message is simple, but rare: "I am a profoundly imperfect human, and so are you. Isn't that glorious?" And perhaps that's why every audience that hears him feels drawn to him and his music. There is no facade, no self-righteous undertones or messages implied. No political preaching. Just a raw, soulful expression of a man's lifetime of experiences and thoughts.
