LIVE at The Rosebud: July 17, 18, 19, 2025

Change is in the air, and nothing knows change like music: blink and you miss it! Harmony, tension, and resolution are the physics of music theory, based on emotional reactions to changes in physical vibration. As an improviser, one of my favorite qualities of music is its impermanence. Even the most accurate recordings fall short of capturing the magic of a live performance. And after the encore fades out and the house lights fade in, that glowing high of knowing you participated in something beautiful that can never quite be replicated is all that remains. Music reminds us that change is not only good, but necessary for existence. And when we learn to embrace the rhythm, harmony, and melody of our lives, apprehension melts into inspiration, and opportunity starts to groove.

Thursday July 17th, southern rockers of the North Bay area Gill Brothers Band bring their dueling lead guitars, surrealist storytelling, and laid-back twang to the stage (think Wilco and AC/DC from rural Cali). Nevada City’s Graham Farrow Knibb opens the night with his unique folk-rock originals. Get your tickets here!

Friday July 18th, multi-instrumentalist Matt Heckler transports us to the darker side of the Appalachian Mountains with his blend of bluegrass, Celtic, and Americana music. Joe’s Truck Stop, a honky-tonk bluegrass quartet from the Ohio River Valley, opens the evening. Get your tickets here!

Saturday July 19th, reggae and jazz collide in a night of groove and good vibes with Eugene’s Ya’ad and Abroad Soundsystem. Infusing fresh improvisations with Caribbean dance grooves, Ya’ad and Abroad embarks on a sonic experience of musical unification for all of creation! Get your tickets here!

It was a hot Graffiti Weekend at The Rosebud- thank you to the inspirational A Love Electric, the undeniable Nina & the Rebel Rockers, the incredible J.E.T. Trio, and the unstoppable Gabriel Cox Band! Thank you to our awesome team, our generous patrons, and to you, for logging off, tuning in, and dropping by The Rosebud Theatre.
