Located in the North Bay Area, Gill Brothers Band has carried the craft of guitar and song together for over a decade. Brothers Jacob and Connor wield mean, fluid, cutting lead guitars, earning a strong regional following as well as an extensive history of touring in Northern California and the Pacific Northwest. With Avalon Cook lending her thunderous bass playing and angelic vocals and Nick Craft's stoic and disciplined drumming, the band's sound continues to evolve.
Both brothers have contributed and performed with a number of bay area based musical projects including Slumped, Awakebutstillinbed, The Lost Boys, and Forget It., providing the opportunity to have shared the stage with a diverse range of modern contemporary artists such as Superheaven, Josh Meloy, Mom Jeans, and Joyce Manor, as well as more classic artists such as Buddy Guy, Eddie Money, The Tubes, and Foreigner.
Their sound combines dueling lead guitar work inspired by the likes of AC/DC, The Outlaws, and Thin Lizzy with surrealist storytelling delivered through a laid-back twang, reminiscent of alternative rock and country acts such as Wilco, Old 97’s, and Drive-By Truckers.
Graham Farrow Knibb came up in a small gold town in the Sierra Foothills of Northern California, and his songs orbit the things around him and the lives of the people getting by in this beautiful and often challenging place. Knibb’s California is bewildering and stark, and often dazzling. Promises are precarious, hardships are expected and tremendous love is worth celebrating.
