LIVE at The Rosebud: September 17, 18, 19, 20, 2025

Last weekend, I headed East with Roseburg’s The Mother Smuckers and Widespread Haze to the 19th annual Bend Roots Revival: an eclectic free community music festival celebrating Oregon’s diverse creative musical character. Eight stages in four locations added up to a nonstop 3-day musical experience! From soul-pop to didgeridoo EDM to bluegrass covers of grunge classics, the festival was overflowing with creative concepts and colorfully dressed Bendites grooving the day away.

As the fest progressed, I started to sense a thread through it all- an unspoken understanding among Oregonians that defines the culture: a peacefully unapologetic drive for self-expression, with the understanding that there is enough room for all of us to join in. We have a supportive community of artists living in one of the most beautiful corners of the Earth, and no one is in a hurry. I returned home with a reinvigorated sense of excitement for the possibilities and opportunities that lie before us in this incredible state, and a sense of pride for our small piece of it.

Here’s what we have for you this week…

Wednesday September 17th, harp-slinging bluesman T. Bone Stone hosts his Old School Blues Jam. Sit in with Roseburg’s finest blues musicians, or sit back and watch the impromptu collaborations unfold!

Thursday September 18th, Blackwater Railroad Company brings the sweet sounds of Alaska to The Rosebud stage. Seamlessly blending bluegrass, Americana, and roots rock ‘n’ roll, Blackwater Railroad Company explores the extremes of northern living. Tight four-part harmonies and honky-tonk piano punctuate the endless pulsing dance beats and foot-stomping anthems that established them as a favorite among mountainfolk and wandering souls.

Friday September 19th, the spirit of The Grateful Dead lives on through Mason’s Children. Hailing from the ‘Frisco Bay neighborhood of Haite & Ashbury, this group of youngsters embodies the authentic 1960’s flower child vibration! Mason’s Children cut their teeth playing shakedown lots before and after Dead & Co shows, and continue to carry on the legacy of The Dead, leaving their own taste of life that illuminates the soul.

Saturday September 20th, Eric Yokai brings us another all-ages punk show with the anticipated return of Honolulu/Portland’s punk rock pioneers GENERIC, along with Eugene’s prog-punk rockers Stick Buck! Generic fuses hardcore punk fury with island soul. Stick Buck roars to life with prog-punk fusion-rock immortality. Come out for a night of family-friendly thrashing!

Thank you to everyone who played at the All Ages Jazz Jam, to the world-renowned EXTC and DJ Eric Yokai, to the masterfully fun Ben Rice and the PDX Hustle, and to the incredible The Rosa Lees! It is an honor to be a part of the Oregon live-music circuit, and to host such incredible talent. Thank you to our team, and to you, for logging off, tuning in, and dropping by The Rosebud Theatre!
