LIVE at The Rosebud: November 6, 7, 8, 10, 11, 2025

It’s a strange time to be an artist. In the past week, stories of new technology in the artistic realm have dominated my thoughts:

A comedian gets hired for a voiceover gig: when she shows up, an AI generated recording of her own voice reading the script already exists as a rough draft!

A band makes promotional videos of themselves playing their original music as paid ads for social media. The comments accuse them of being AI generated! (I met them… they’re real).

The line between fact and fiction has been blurred beyond recognition, sewing skepticism online and making in-person experience exponentially more valuable. The job of the performing artist becomes less about polished packaging and perfect production, and more about genuine connection with a live audience. Wanna find out if the music is real? Come on down to The Rosebud and see for yourself!

Here’s what we have for you this week…

Thursday, November 6th:

Award-winning bandleader, harmonica player, singer, songwriter, and entertainer Joel Astley brings his band for a swinging evening of blues and rock ‘n’ roll. Joel Astley has been on a meteoric rise on the international Blues Music scene since his 2023 debut album Seattle to Greaseland. Come hear what the hype is about!
