For one year The Rosebud has been your source for evening entertainment, coming alive around dinnertime and closing by midnight. Starting next week, we are expanding into uncharted territory for most musicians: the afternoon!
Wednesday through Saturday from Noon-4pm, The Rosebud will open its doors to the public! Join us on your next lunch break, coffee date, or lazy extended morning for our variety of craft cocktails and mocktails, local beer and wine, designer ramen, concessions, and groovy vibes. And while you’re here, grab a couple fee-free paper tickets to your show-of-choice! It’s our Box Office Bar, and it’s open while the sun is still up. Stop by and say hi!
Here’s what we have for you this week…
Thursday, November 13th:
Dig the blues with Eugene’s Savvy Katz. Singing drummer GT Albright of T.O.B. (That Other Band) teams up with singer / guitarist Mike Balas and singer / bassist Russ Whitlatch for an all-American blues rock power trio, setting the stage for Roseburg’s own Virgil Robinson to join the fun!
Friday, November 14th:
Roseburg’s Second Chance Blues Band is back, blending blues, classic rock, and pop with their sizzling electric guitar licks, deep, rich bass guitar, melodic keyboards, powerful-yet-mellow sax, responsive and scintillating drums, and wide-ranging sultry vocals.
Saturday, November 15th:
stomp your feet for Billy and the Box Kid from Bend, Oregon! “Billy” Koenig’s fast-paced acoustic country rock ‘n’ roll blends magically with Scottie McClelland’s distinctive high-energy style on cajon [aka “box drum”], blossoming into a full outfit with Tommy Luts on mandolin, Eric Nizol on lead guitar, and Ben Woessner on bass. Together they fuse 1950’s rock ‘n’ roll, country, bluegrass, and southern blues into an electric evening sure to get you on your feet!
We had a rockin’ extended week with blues rising-star Joel Astley, prog-rockers No Soap, Radio and Widespread Haze, psych-rockers The Bone Rollers, Showtigers, and Vinnie Rip, songwriters Freddy Trujillo, Adam Gabriel, and Neil Gregory Johnson, and I’m about to go join the pit with Oddities, A Moments Notice, Gouged, Divide in Silence, and Seclusionist. We’ll see you soon (maybe in the afternoon,) when you log off your screen, tune into the scene, and drop by The Rosebud Theatre!
