LIVE at The Rosebud: May 22, 23, 24, 2025

What is a performance but a glimpse into an artist’s life? For four hours, three nights a week, we visit a crossroads where an artist’s journey and a patron’s night-out collide in a sonic prism of harmony and connection. But that brief encounter says nothing of the lifetime of work that leads up to that moment: the late nights composing and rehearsing; the long roads traveling; the empty clubs and payless gigs: rights of passage to a sold-out show. We see only the sharpened edge of a finely crafted blade - the immortal performance of a very mortal experience. For a few hours we join the artist in their journey towards expression and freedom- then we go home to our own stories, our own mortal experiences, hopefully enriched, and certainly entertained.

Here are the live shows happening at The Rosebud this week - live music every week in historic downtown Roseburg:

Thursday May 22nd, hailing from the windy ridges and misty hollows of Eugene, Sugar Pine brings their unique take on roots and bluegrass music to the Rosebud stage. From haunting harmonies to high-energy instrumentals, Sugar Pine is sure to get your boots tapping! Get your tickets here.

Friday May 23rd, Jeff Miller & the Congregation take the trek from Bend to bring us their gritty gospel-infused take on country rock. Powerful vocal harmonies and acoustic instrumentation harken back to the golden age of American country music. Get your tickets here.

Saturday May 24th, blues and jazz powerhouse Joanne Broh brings her quintet to the Rosebud for a dynamic blend of smokin’ blues and R&B with a splash of funk! Featuring Garry Meziere, Jon Brand, Claudia Paige, and Roseburg’s own Michael Mendenhall, Joanne Broh is bringing the heat! Get your tickets here.

And next Wednesday May 28th, join us for an all-ages evening of big-band swing and instrumental jazz! The 13-piece UCC Big Horn Jazz Band led by John Gronberg will be opening the night with some classic repertoire, followed by a set of new original compositions by drummer / composer Tommy Whiteside (that’s me!) and his septet. Students get in free with their student ID! Bring the family for an adventurous excursion into the world of instrumental jazz. Get your tickets here.

A huge thank you to northwest blues legend Ty Curtis, the captivating, genre-bending Adam Gabriel & the Cavaliers and Trevor Hanks & the Blackburn Rebels, and the fun-loving virtuosic Katie Jane Band for their spectacular performances and everything that lead up to them. Thank you to our rock-solid team, our music-loving patrons, and our dedicated readers! We’ll see you next time down at the crossroads of Jackson & Cass when you log off, tune in, and drop by The Rosebud Theatre.

Presale tickets for upcoming live music shows are available through our website at www.therosebudtheatre.com/events until noon the day of the show (or until sold out), or at Reverie Record Shop (with cash) during their business hours the week of each show (642 SE Jackson St, Roseburg, OR).
