LIVE at The Rosebud: May 28, 29, 30, 31, 2025

I spend a lot of my time in Downtown Roseburg. Between my house, my job, my rehearsal space, my regular coffee shops, my favorite restaurants, and a killer record store, I don’t often have a reason to leave.

This last weekend my band Widespread Haze had the privilege of playing at a groovy little brewery called Art Bop in Talent, Oregon. We got set up early and did some exploring, happening upon a hip record store and a winery patio with a live jazz trio. Wandering the streets of a small rural town known for its healthy and thriving music scene felt familiar, like I had never left the ‘Burg.

Suddenly I could see all the work and excitement of the last few years in my Downtown Roseburg oasis compounding into the diamond that it has become. The festivals, the music venues, the food and nightlife, and the friendly neighbors waving and taking the time to stop and have a conversation: all the ingredients of a healthy and thriving scene. We have the dream: come down and celebrate it!

Wednesday May 28th, join us for an exploration into big-band swing and combo jazz. The 17-piece UCC Big Horn Jazz Band opens the evening with a diverse set of swing and latin repertoire, followed by a set of original instrumental compositions by local drummer / composer Tommy Whiteside and his septet. Thursday May 29th, take a journey with The Dead & Down from the rust-flecked swamps of country and rock, through the outer reaches of psychedelia, and back to their Montana Mountain roots. Friday May 30th, in collaboration with (Re)Discover Downtown Roseburg’s 5th Friday event, Fox & Bones brings their retro-tinged, soul-stirring offbeat folkster sound to the Rosebud. Saturday May 31st, standup comedy invades the stage as Nathaniel Greene hosts the electrifying beatboxing comic Tyler Boeh and the brilliant Salem-based Tina Hogstrom for a raucous night of stand up magic! Get your tickets here.
