LIVE at The Rosebud: June 26, 27, 29, 2025

Space. Is. Key. Not outer space, but inner space. French impressionist composer Claude Debussy once said “Music is the space between the notes.” I believe the same applies for a community. Having a space to express oneself, a space to bring people together, and sometimes just a space to crash on one’s way through town, is critical for an artistic community to exist. Luckily, space is something we have an abundance of! From the wide-open fields of Oakland Hempfest and Glide Sasquatch Festival to the small stages at Little Brother’s Pub and Urban Blendz, our county is lit up with art and music, echoing against colorful commissioned murals on historic brick buildings in Downtown Roseburg. We have the space and we are using it, not solely for the sake of art, but for the human relationships made possible by the space we’ve left open in our minds. To quote the great American composer Dave Matthews, “the space between your heart and mind is a space we’ll fill with time / the space between the tears we cry is the laughter, keeps us coming back for more”

Thursday June 26th, funnyman Nathaniel Greene hosts an evening of standup comedy, inviting Portland’s Luke Miller and Eugene’s Angie Bloomfield to share their laid-back jokes and absurd stories with the rest of us! Come on down for a cathartic night of comedic abandon!

Friday June 27th, Mr. Vale’s Math Class is back, bringing us their polynomial funk and fractal jams! Join the math-themed dance party with Portland’s 6-piece funky-fresh math-and-music-maticians!

Saturday June 28th, bluesman Hank Shreve brings his band for a night of high-energy original blues, rock, funk, and soul! Featuring Bill Shreve on bass, Ken Luker on guitar, and Tim Donahue on drums, the Hank Shreve Band is bound to blast your blues away!

And SAVE THE DATE: Next Thursday July 3rd, award-winning country music songwriter Anthony Smith brings his best songs to The Rosebud! After writing songs for top artists like George Strait, Tim McGraw, Blake Shelton, and Chris Stapleton, Anthony Smith’s own critically acclaimed record “If That Ain’t Country” produced three Billboard top 40 singles. With local legend blueswoman Dawn Day.
