LIVE at The Rosebud: June 19, 20, 21, 2025

What does it mean to be eclectic? Eclecticism stems from ancient Greece, from “eklektitkos” meaning “choose the best.” The concept begins with philosophers constructing a system so vague and diverse that it didn’t exclude any other schools of thought, but rather embraced the best parts of all of them. The melting pot of America is inherently eclectic, which explains why American music and entertainment continues to define the cutting-edge of modern culture: it has a bit of everything in it! We represent the gumbo of the planet, weaving a beautiful fabric of disparate collaboration in glorious paradox, arguing our way towards the evolution of human thought. It reflects in our music: our tendency toward improvisation, our appreciation of tradition, and our craving to break the mold. In this time of economic uncertainty, political polarization, and escalating global conflict, it is important to remember that an open mind is all it takes to turn the impossible into the ordinary, and a listening ear is an easy path to an open mind. Stay eclectic at The Rosebud Theatre!

Here are the live shows happening at The Rosebud this week - live music every week in historic downtown Roseburg:

Thursday June 19th, join us for an evening with Eugene’s classically-charged folk songstress Baroque Betty and her string band. Exploring the outer edges of folk, bluegrass, and minimalist rock, infused with semi-classical string arrangements, and led by Betty Jaeger’s smoky haunting voice, Baroque Betty sweeps the audience away on an entrancing musical journey. Get your tickets here.

Friday June 20th, five-piece rock ‘n’ bluegrass band Billy and the Box Kid take the trip from Bend, Oregon bringing their boot-stomping plectrum-plucking Acoustic Dance Music to The Rosebud! From ‘50’s rock ‘n’ roll to bluegrass to southern blues, Billy and the Box Kid bring the heat to the dance floor wherever they end up! Get your tickets here.

Saturday June 21st, The Rosebud Theatre’s own modular power-trio Widespread Haze plays their home stage for their Black Coffee & Marmalade EP release kickoff Summer Solstice Showcase! Blurring the lines between Americana, folk, rock ‘n’ roll, and the blues, Widespread Haze aims to keep you on your toes in more ways than one! Featuring Luke Thomas on mandolin, Mike Mendenhall on piano and organ, and Virgil Robinson on electric guitar, the expanded sextet explores a new psychedelic palette of genre-abandoning sound inspired by the authentic songwriting of Matthew Campbell, Kristi Rifenbark, and Tommy Whiteside. Limited edition psychedelically inspired locally screen-printed t-shirts from Max Smoot at Cass Studio Frogleg and album art posters printed by Angelo Antonio at The Corner Shot available while supplies last! Come get Hazey. Get your tickets here.
