Matt Pond PA, Bathtub Cig LIVE at The Rosebud // $20 Presale, $25 at the Door // All Ages // Doors 6pm, Show 7pm // Indie Folk, Chamber Pop
For more than two decades, Matt Pond has quietly built one of the most enduring and emotionally resonant catalogs in indie rock. From early touchstones like Several Arrows Later and Emblems to fan-favorite records like The Dark Leaves and The Lives Inside the Lines in Your Hand, his work has been praised by outlets including Pitchfork, NPR, and Rolling Stone. His songs have appeared in television and film, his live shows have cultivated fiercely loyal audiences across the U.S. and Europe, and his songwriting continues to evolve — cinematic, intimate, and unafraid of beauty.
Matt Pond PA has shared stages with artists across the indie landscape and remains a singular voice: literate, melodic, string-laced, and deeply human.
Matt Pond’s very name evokes the natural world in which his songs are so often set, with their evocative lyrics about the sometimes jagged edges of love, the pros and cons of connection, and the agony and ecstasy of memory. He has always mapped the universal emotions of being alive onto the contours of his own stories.
Sunday, October 18th:
Lightweight Champion, Widespread Haze LIVE at The Rosebud // $15 // All Ages // Doors 5pm, Show 6pm // Indie Alternative Country, Rock ‘n’ Roll
Seattle-based Ya’llternative indie alt-country trio Lightweight Champion pairs up with Roseburg’s rock ‘n’ roll power trio Widespread Haze at The Rosebud.
Lightweight Champion is an alt-country band based out of Seattle and Port Townsend, WA. The band's sound comprises compelling indie songwriting and lyricism with a twangy edge. The band released their first EP “Valley” on Seattle cassette label Den Tapes in April 2023. The EP demonstrates the band's versatility and arrangement prowess – it merges Spieldenner’s lyrics-forward style with warm and textural production, leaning on alt-country influences augmented by explorations into indie/alternative sonic territory. 2024/2025 marked a number of landmarks for the band - several shows in the greater pacific northwest, including Astoria, Port Townsend, Chimacum, and Bellingham; a 10-day tour packed with 9 shows between Seattle and Bozeman; and the recording of the band's first full-length album. Recent singles “Battery” and “Quarterback,” released in June 2026, are out now wherever you listen to music. Members include Aaron Spieldenner (Vocals/Guitar), Cam Hancock (Drums) and Tom Moskal (Bass).
Wednesday, October 21st:
Pat Byrne LIVE at The Rosebud // $15 // All Ages // Doors 6pm, Show 7pm // Singer-Songwriter, Folk, Americana
“When you combine the transcendent poetry of Bob Dylan with the gritty, real-world rock-n-roll storytelling Bruce Springsteen made so famous, and add a dash of the political activism embodied by Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger, you’ll have Irish singer-songwriter Pat Byrne.” -Folk Alley at 30A Songwriters Festival
Following his 2021 Into The Light album, Byrne delivered strong new works in 2022. His unmistakable voice and cinematic lyrics continue to touch our universal humanity. Supported by legendary musicians from Emmylou Harris’s band he presents another gem with “Only a Man”. Recorded at The Next Waltz with Bruce Robison and band, “Until it Isn’t” is a gorgeous rendition wistfully recalling lost love. Byrne’s December 2022 release, “Feels Like Living”, makes palpable the working musician’s struggle and uncertainty, underpinned by a nostalgic arrangement of strings and harmonium.
Into the Light, recorded at the Sound Emporium studio in Nashville, takes the listener on an emotional journey with lyrics both touching and agonizing—heightened by Byrne’s dynamic vocal style.
Byrne migrated from Ireland to Austin, Texas in late 2017. Since then, he has melded two musical cultures known for introspective lyricism and raw, from-the-heart emotion - with spectacular results.
