LIVE at The Rosebud: February 5, 6, 7, 2026

This week at The Rosebud we’ve got Free Improv Thursday, a Funky Friday Night double-feature, and Jazzy Neo-Soul Saturday, and in the world… it’s Grammy week!

Culture grows from the ground up. Without overworked, road-weary, nationally anonymous independent artists pursuing their dream alongside overworked, stir-crazy, financially volatile independent music venues, there would be no Best New Artist or Record of the Year [brought to you by Mastercard and Hilton]. We till the soil for the Top 40, stirring the melting pot of the underground. Culture is people, and people is us. Together, dancing to music we’ve never heard before, we make a wave that resonates all the way to the golden gramophone… sometimes it just takes a few years.

That said… congratulations to all the Grammy winners who are reading this newsletter!

Here’s what we have for you this week…

Thursday, February 5th:

It’s Jam Night at The Rosebud! Come celebrate bassist, sound engineer, and Thursday Jam Night founder Steve Amari’s birthday with a night of libations and free improvisation! All ages until 10pm, drums and amps provided, and of course.. NO COVERS!

Friday, February 6th:

The FUNK prevails. It’s a funky disco dance party double-feature with Roseburg’s The Mother Smuckers and Portland’s Jay Si Proof! Part-time serious, full-time funky Jay Si Proof opens the show with their silly, euphoric, earthy, and undeniably funky vibe. The Mother Smuckers rock into the night with their snarky guitar-squealing aggro-funk. From head-banging to booty-shaking, don’t miss this chance to dance!

Saturday, February 7th:

Eugene’s modern jazz / neo-soul quintet Natsukashii Soul brings their eclectic, refined sound to The Rosebud in support of their 2025 album Silvereen. Autumn Rose’s sultry vocals soar over deep pocket grooves laid down by drummer Paige Lavelli, bassist Greg McKelvey, and keyboardist Vincent Panero, as trumpeter Frank Visconti weaves contemplative melodies. From grunge to bossa-nova, Natsukashii Soul takes you on a neo-soul journey through time and across the world.

BONUS! Saturday Afternoon, February 7th:

We're ADDING AN OPEN MIC! You asked, we've answered. Saturday afternoon Open Mic during our Box Office Bar hours continues this Saturday, February 7th! Our good friend Levi Chase Melendez will host this Saturday's open mic. Sign-up at 12pm, performances from 1pm - 3pm. There is no cover charge to attend. This will be a weekly open mic for now, every Saturday afternoon (same time, same place). Please Note: We will be closed on Super Bowl Sunday, January 8th and will not have our monthly Sunday evening Open Mic this month, but we’ll be back for Sunday Open Mic on Sunday, March 8th.

Stop in at noon to sign up and then be sure to stop by the Umpqua Valley Farmers' Market on Saturday (one block from The Rosebud on SE Jackson) before performances begin. There is a lot to discover in downtown Roseburg!

We skipped the Grammys for another amazing and inspiring week of independent entertainment at The Rosebud! Thank you to stand-up comedians Seth Milstein, Angie Bloomfield, and Nathaniel Greene; to Sacramento’s funkiest The Gold Souls; to Portland’s psychedelic art-rockers Moon Music, Roseburg’s Widespread Haze, and (Re)Discover Downtown’s 5th Friday; to Eugene’s astute blues-rockin’ felines Savvy Katz; and to Nashville’s rising stars Hannah Juanita and The Hardliners and Mose Wilson, for doing what you do, and for sharing it with us! Thanks to our staff, our patrons, and to you, for logging off, tuning in, and dropping by The Rosebud Theatre.
