LIVE at The Rosebud: August 28, 29, 30, 2025
We are part of a strange and mythical music history in Roseburg. From Johnny Cash’s “Lumberjack” to the colorfully shady origins of Lindy’s Dance Hall; from the founding of Music On The Half Shell in the 1980’s to the post-hardcore Grange shows in the early Otts – Roseburgians have been finding creative ways to bring outside culture and entertainment into our town since its inception. But there is an untold side to that story: the long-running jam sessions at The Jersey Lily and Draper Draft House, the incredible performances put on by Umpqua Community College, and the packed open-mics at Oran Mor, Urban Blendz, and Little Brothers Pub suggest that there’s something in the water. Three different Roseburg bands played the garden stage at The Britt Music & Arts Festival in Jacksonville, Oregon this year, all three friends of mine, and all three making music that I love and believe in. There has been an underground scene of incredible musicians in Roseburg for as long as I an remember, but recently there has been a collective drive to grow beyond our rural boundaries. History is constantly being written, and I am proud to be a part of the musical evolution of our tall-tale town. Together we can create legends to inspire the next generation, just by showing up.
Here’s what we have for you this week…
Thursday August 28th, Southern Oregon’s Adam Gabriel & The Cavaliers join Roseburg’s Widespread Haze for an evening of masterful folk rock, southern blues, and original rock ‘n’ roll!
Friday August 29th, we are excited to participate in (Re)Discover Downtown’s Fifth Friday event with Northern California’s indie sensation Danger Kitty Music! Weaving a sonic tapestry of rock, funk, and Americana, Danger Kitty delivers a danceable conclusion to a night-on-the-town.
Saturday August 30th, worlds collide with Distinguished Ape’s All Ages Punk ‘N’ Donuts, featuring PNW thrashers Old Cross and Bad Luck Blackouts, as well as delicious pastries. The first 25 people at the door get free donuts- don’t miss out!
And, peering into the future, Friday September 5th, The Rosebud Theatre embarks on a journey into unmapped genretory: puppet theatre. Join Southern Oregon puppet troupe Puppeteers for Fears as they bring you Robopocalypse: The Musical – a cyberpunk spectacular of analog synthesis, multimedia magic, and an all-puppet cast.
