LIVE at The Rosebud: August 14, 15, 16, 2025
I am constantly impressed with the diversity of our local music community. To transform from a two-stepping honky-tonk to a new-soul jazz club, and finally to a Scottish pub in one week doesn’t seem possible on paper, but when the room is infused with the excitement of a scene ready to go on a collective journey, the transformation is seamless.
When I was growing up, we had five musical scenes to choose from: pop, metal, emo, country, or hip-hop. Each genre had its fashion style that was sold by a different boutique in the mall, creating a marketable identity that I and everyone I knew bought into. The music did speak to us, but the JENCO jeans and chains were probably unnecessary.
Fast-forward to 2025 and try to guess a stranger’s musical interests: I’ll bet it’s not what you think! We’ve entered an eclectic era where goths listen to jazz, rappers make country albums, and John Mayer is playing with The Grateful Dead. But through all the fashion trends, record label struggles, identity issues, and copyright lawsuits, one truth remains: the music still speaks to us. So, whether you’re a funky nerd, a skateboarding Swifty, a polka punk, or a yacht-rock mosher, we’ve always got room for you on the dance floor (or in one of our new comfortable vintage theatre seats – coming soon!) Identity is an illusion; music tells the truth.
Here’s what we have for you this week…
Thursday August 14th, hailing from LA, Herway to Hell the all-female AC/DC Tribute brings their high-voltage show to The Rosebud! They’ve got style, spunk, funk, and speed, and they’re prepared to throw the biggest ball of them all, with the same powerful electric guitar-driven high-energy performances that brought the Australian rock legends to the top!
Friday August 15th, get weird with Portland-based art rockers Moon Music! Between psychedelic soundscapes, funky grooves, improvised melodies, and vocals inspired by Joni Mitchell and Bjork, Moon Music creates an unforgettable show of musical chairs, uplifting songs, and spontaneity. All ages welcome!
Saturday August 16th, America’s funnest band Sweet N’ Juicy is back and ready to party with their fruity funk and virtuosic swagger! Opening the night is Roseburg’s undeniably funky The Mother Smuckers, adding up to a delicious evening of tasty licks and jammy grooves. Be prepared to dance uncontrollably!
We had an incredible jam-packed week at The Rosebud last week! Thank you to the legendary Dale Watson & His Lonestars, the blues-shredding Terry Robb and Adam Scramstad, the eclectic BendreTheGiant and Saltwater Salamander, the renowned Gary Blair, and all of the musicians who came out to our free improvisation jam night! Thank you to our team, our patrons – past and future – and to every one of you who make this eclectic dream possible.
