Bringing the soulful, high-energy boogified sounds of New Orleans to the Pacific Northwest, Skip Jones & The Spirit of New Orleans deliver a dynamic blend of rhythm and blues hits from the ’50s and ’60s, along with classic rock and pop organ favorites from the ’60s and ’70s. Add in some authentic New Orleans piano boogie-woogie, and the party follows wherever they play!

Frontman Skip Jones has a longstanding career, having performed with legendary acts such as The Coasters, The Drifters, The Platters, Joe Houston, and Bo Diddley. In the ’80s, he toured with Canned Heat, holding down bass duties for Larry Taylor. Skip has also worked with local greats like Henry Vestine, James Thornbury, James Bradshaw, and The Etouffee Band.

Sunday, September 20th:

Caltucky LIVE at The Rosebud // $15 // All Ages // Doors 6pm, Show 7pm // Progressive Bluegrass

Caltucky is a progressive bluegrass band from Northern California blending tradition, improvisation, and grit. With fiery banjo, soulful fiddle, and fearless harmonies, their sound sits somewhere between the mountains and the cosmos — high-energy, heartfelt, and impossible to stand still to.

The quartet — Marty Varner (guitar/mandolin, vocals), Kyle Kunert (banjo, vocals), Elijah McCullough (fiddle), and Tyler Miles (bass) — has become a rising force on the West Coast circuit, known for their kinetic live shows and boundary-stretching arrangements. Their sets weave blistering instrumentals, harmony-rich originals, and reimagined covers that shift from foot-stomping breakdowns to trancey groove explorations without ever losing the bluegrass heartbeat.

Equal parts tradition and trailblaze, Caltucky embodies the next generation of jamgrass — rooted in authenticity, raised on improvisation, and always chasing that moment where the pickin’ catches fire and the whole crowd moves as one.

Thank you, thank you, thank you for an amazing week at The Rosebud last week! Starting with the inspiring mountain sounds of Denver’s Stillhouse Junkies, rolling right into the epic SOLD OUT Zepperella performance, waking up to ANOTHER SOLD OUT show with Portland’s Generic and DJ’s Eric Yokai and Chase Bats, and crash landing into a mind-melting blues-fusion performance by the Chris Duarte Trio made for one of the coolest weeks I’ve had in a while. Thank you to all of you who made that possible! Thanks to our team, our patrons, and to you, for logging off, tuning in, and dropping by The Rosebud Theatre!

Online presale tickets for upcoming shows are available through our website at www.therosebudtheatre.com/events until an hour before doors the day of the show (or until sold out). Physical presale tickets are available at Reverie Record Shop during their open hours (with cash). We are an intimate under 100 capacity venue so don’t wait to get those tickets! Learn more about The Rosebud on our FAQ page.
