Villains In Vain is a metalcore band based in Eugene, Oregon. VIV began after DJ Luther (vocals) and Cameron Octon (guitar) met online in 2020 and began writing music in the throes of the COVID pandemic shutdown. The duo released a cover of Seal’s “Kiss From A Rose” in April 2021, which attracted the interest of Justin Eden (bass) and their original drummer. The following September, the band released their first original song, “Shadow in the Light." Jesse Gale joined the band on drums in September 2024.
Perfect City Built to Burn was released in June 2022 and to much local acclaim and support. The band focused their efforts through '22-'23 on bringing a high intensity, energetic live performance as far as they could reach. In April 2023, VIV won the Pacific Northwest Regional round of the USA Wacken Metal Battle. The following May, VIV competed in the National round in San Diego, CA, taking 3rd place.
In 2025, the band is poised to release new material, merchandise, and bring more vigorous performances to stages all over the Pacific Northwest and Southwest. Fall to Nothing, released March 2025, is a relentless metalcore anthem fueled by fast-paced aggression and soaring intensity. Driven by intricate guitar riffs and a crushing rhythmic section, the track channels a spirit of defiance and resilience. With powerful vocals and an unyielding energy, it delivers a battle cry for those who refuse to be held back.
Based out of Southern Oregon, 2PF is bringing high energy drumming from 19 year old Mason Provolt. Dayton Turner scorches the stage with a massive arsenal of screams. Heavy bass, synth and guitars accompany him from Fred Pool and Mo Provolt along with aggressive vocals and catchy hooks.
